April Economic Data Shows Europe’s Economy Has Imploded

Economists and investors have been bracing themselves for April economic data, but the numbers are even worse than what experts expected. The eurozone composite PMI, an indicator that tracks purchases in the manufacturing and services sectors, hit 13.5 in April. That number is significantly down from 29.7 in March, and it is the lowest reading since the composite survey began in 1998.
