International Olympic Committee Says it Will Consider Postponing Tokyo Summer Games

After harsh criticism by member countries, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) executive board announced Sunday that it is finally considering postponing the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Soon after, Canada announced it will not send its athletes to the Games. It remains to be seen whether other nations will follow Canada’s lead.
