The Auto Industry is Facing an Economic Crisis of Historic Proportions

Recent events have caused such upheaval in the auto industry that fewer cars will be built this month than any month since WWII. Automakers like Ford, GM and Chrysler are in survival mode, as projections show that sales of new cars will be down by nearly 50 percent in the second quarter. It remains to be seen how long the crisis will last, or what a recovery will look like for automakers.
